Know every button.

A quick guide to tracking one player, keeping score, and correcting mistakes.

Tap to add. Hold to subtract.

Tap a stat or rating to record it for your player. The small number on the button is its current match count.

Hold for about 0.6 seconds to remove one matching entry. A hold removes only one, even if you keep pressing. If that stat added a point, removing it reverses the point too.

Undo restores the last action, including a hold correction or finishing a set. Scrolling cancels a hold. Scores and stat counts cannot go below zero.

Count each point once. A Kill, Assist, Block, Block Assist, or Ace already adds your team’s point. An error already adds the opponent’s point. Use the team score buttons only for other rallies.

Player stat buttons

ButtonWhen to tapScore
KillYour player’s attack directly wins the rally.Home +1
AttackAn attack stays in play without a kill or attack error. Use one attack outcome per swing. No change
Attack ErrYour player’s attack loses the rally, such as hitting out, into the net, or into a point-winning block.Opponent +1
AssistYour player’s pass or set directly leads to a teammate’s kill. In this single-player tracker, this also records the team point. Do not add another point using the team name.Home +1
Assist AttA pass or set intended to create an attack does not lead to a kill. In this app, record Assist or Assist Att for that set, rather than both.No change
Ball Handling ErrA referee-called handling fault, such as a lift, carry, or illegal double contact. A poorly placed set alone is not this error. Use the attack or receiving error category for those specific outcomes.Opponent +1
BlockYour player wins the rally with a solo block. A block touch that keeps the rally going is not a point-winning block.Home +1
Block AssistYour player shares a point-winning block with a teammate. For your player, record Block or Block Assist for that block, rather than both.Home +1
DigYour player keeps an opponent’s attack in play with a defensive save. Receiving a serve belongs under Serve Receive. No change

Serving: 0–4

Grade how much pressure the serve puts on the opponent’s reception. Higher is better. These are common guidelines; follow your coach’s scale consistently.

0 · Serve Error — missed serve
The serve loses the rally: into the net, out of bounds, or a called serving fault. Opponent +1.
1 · Serve 1 — easy reception
A legal serve lets the opponent pass accurately and run their normal offense. Little pressure. The rally continues; no score change.
2 · Serve 2 — limits their offense
The opponent makes a controlled pass, but the setter has to move or has fewer attacking options. They can still attack. No score change.
3 · Serve 3 — forces a scramble
A tough serve produces a poor pass, overpass, or emergency recovery. The opponent is still keeping the ball alive, often sending a free ball. No score change.
4 · Ace — wins immediately
The serve directly wins the point: it lands untouched or cannot be legally kept in play. Home +1.
Serve 0 versus 1Into the net = 0. In bounds but passed perfectly = 1. A low-quality legal serve is not a serving error.

Record one serving outcome. If it is an Ace, use 4 rather than also entering 1, 2, or 3. A difficult serve that stays in play can be 3 even if the opponent wins later.

Serve Receive: 0–3

Grade the quality of your player’s first pass from the serve. Higher means more attacking options for your setter. Judge the pass, not who eventually wins the rally.

0 · Receive Error — rally lost
The serve gets through or the pass cannot be kept in play. Example: the pass flies out and no teammate can recover it. Opponent +1.
1 · Receive 1 — poor but playable
The ball stays alive, but the team scrambles, a teammate takes an emergency second touch, or the only option is a high ball or free ball. A playable overpass can also be a 1. No score change.
2 · Receive 2 — controlled, limited options
The setter can create an attack, but the pass pulls them away from the ideal target or prevents some quick options. No score change.
3 · Receive 3 — on target
The pass reaches the setter in a good position with the team’s normal attacking options available. It need not lead to a kill to earn 3. No score change.
Receive 0 versus 1A pass that immediately loses the rally = 0. A bad pass your team can still play = 1. If the team recovers and loses later, that does not automatically make the original pass a 0.

An overpass is not automatically an error: use 0 if the reception directly loses the rally; otherwise grade its playable quality. Record only one receive rating for that serve.

Match controls

Adding a count highlights its button green for two seconds; subtracting highlights it red for two seconds. Linked score changes highlight the team button too. Undo uses the same feedback. Adding an error increases its counter, so it flashes green even though the button normally has a red background.

Team name areas
Tap the home or opponent team name to add one point. Hold to subtract one. These controls change the score without changing player stats. After match completion, a hold adjusts the final set.
Undo
Reverse your most recent entry, score correction, or set finish. Repeated taps step back through earlier actions.
Finish Set
Confirm the set’s final score and move to the next set. Sets require 25 points and a two-point lead. The deciding set (Set 3 in Best of 3, or Set 5 in Best of 5) plays to the selected target of 15 or 25, with a two-point lead. Choose the target in Match Setup before the deciding set starts. Pool Play always plays two sets to 25.
New match
Review the next opponent and match details, then tap Start match. Your current match is saved in History only when you start; closing the form leaves it untouched. Your player and home team are remembered.
Settings → Player details
Change only the player name and jersey number. These details are remembered for the next match and tournament.
Gear / Settings
The gear is the single place for player, match, and account settings. Open Player details to edit the player. Open Match settings to update the current teams, date, location, format, or deciding-set target. Account & sync opens sign-in, server sync, and backups. Settings never starts a new match.
Capture
The live entry screen for recording your player’s touches, serving, and receiving.
Match Stats
View a compact match summary and player totals across all sets. Tap Rating details in Serving or Serve Receive to expand the individual rated-touch counts.
Pool Stats
View combined player stats, points, and differential across completed Pool Play matches plus the current Pool Play match in progress. Once Pool Play has been used, Pool Stats stays visible when you switch to Best of 3 or Best of 5, retaining that pool’s totals for review. Totals group matches on the same match date; changing the date or selecting Best of 3 or Best of 5 ends that pool session without hiding its totals. Returning to Pool Play starts fresh pool totals.
New Pool
After confirmation, start fresh pool totals and a new Pool Play match, while keeping earlier records in History. Home team and player details stay.
All-Time Stats
Combines every saved match and the current match across Pool Play, Best of 3, and Best of 5. Includes unfinished matches. Totals stay consistent as matches move into History. Hitting, serving, and receiving averages use combined attempts. Records discarded before History was added are not available.
History
Expand a match or pool to review its set scores, points, differential, and detailed player stats. The current match remains visible during play and corrections. Starting a new match or pool saves the previous match, including unfinished matches. Pool history groups those matches by pool session and date. Reviewing history does not change the live match.
Share
Create a designed stats and results card and check its preview. Tap Share image, then choose Messages or a social app from the share menu. If image sharing is unavailable, use Save image and upload or attach it manually. No message or post is sent automatically.
Help
Open this guide in a separate tab, keeping the match screen available.
A correction that makes the final completed set unfinished reopens that set. If a correction would invalidate an earlier completed set, undo later actions first.

Reading stats & averages

Total attack attempts (ATT)
Kills + Attack entries + Attack errors.
Hitting percentage (HIT %)
(Kills − Attack errors) ÷ total attack attempts. For example, 5 kills and 2 errors in 10 attempts is .300.
Serving average (SV AVG)
Add the 0–4 serve ratings, then divide by the number of rated serves. A Serve Error contributes 0 and an Ace contributes 4. Previously saved unrated serves count toward total serves but do not affect this average.
Receive average (SR AVG)
Add the 0–3 receive ratings, then divide by the number of receptions. Receive errors contribute 0.
Pool point differential
Total home points scored minus points allowed across the pool. Positive means more points scored than allowed. A 25–10 set followed by a 17–25 set gives 42 − 35 = +7, despite a 1–1 set split.
Pool averages
Calculated from all rated attempts across included matches, rather than averaging individual match averages.
Other table labels
K: kills · AE: attack errors · ACE: aces · SV: serving · DIG: digs · AST: assists · AST ATT: non-kill assist attempts · BHE: ball handling errors · BLK: solo blocks · BLK AST: block assists · SR: serve receive.

A dash means no attempts are available for that average yet.

Tournament Results

Tap View results on a tournament to see your team’s pool and bracket results together. Edit / Override chooses your team and player, allows a final bracket and placement override, and lets you mark the tournament finished. A completed Final can suggest a bracket winner or runner-up; other placements come from the organizer. Changes to scores, copied stats, or assignments prompt a review of saved final placements.

Overall, Pool, and Bracket show the selected player’s totals from Capture matches copied into this tournament. Stats are kept separate by player name and jersey number, and a captured match is counted once. Averages use combined attempts. Score-only matches show no matching player stats; recording scores alone does not create player stats. These reports do not add another copy to All-Time totals.

Share summary prepares an image of the tournament results and the selected player-stat view. Use Share to Messages in the preview, then choose a recipient in your phone’s share menu, or save the image. Reset final placement fields affects the form until you save and does not remove match results or player stats.

Your bracket path

In Tournament, use Add bracket match to choose your team, Gold/Silver/Bronze bracket, round, opponent, and match date. Opponents can come from other pools. Bracket selection uses the saved official assignment when available and can be changed manually. The tracked team stays fixed once the path starts.

Save match / progress keeps a scheduled or unfinished match. Save final result requires a best-of-3 result: two sets won by one team, first two sets to 25, deciding set to 15 or 25, and a two-point lead. Leave Set 3 empty after a 2–0 result. Wins offer Add next round, suggesting Quarterfinal → Semifinal → Final; the organizer supplies the opponent.

Add match / Override allows consolation play or another manual continuation after a loss, unfinished match, or final. Enter a reason. You can edit any saved match. Correcting an earlier result preserves later matches and marks them for review. Editing and saving the later match acknowledges the new earlier result.

Find captured matches looks for a completed Best of 3 match in Capture or History with the same teams and match date. Copy scores & stats handles reversed team order and the deciding-set target. Review and save the result; each captured match can be assigned once. Later Capture corrections require copying again. Manual bracket results do not create player stats in All-Time.

Official placements and manual overrides

Open Confirm / Override above the calculated standings to enter the organizer’s official pool order. Assign each team a different place to resolve a tie or replace the calculated order. You can also override a team’s Gold, Silver, or Bronze bracket independently, including in five- or six-team pools. Leave unassigned explicitly keeps a team without a bracket. Optional bracket seeds come from the organizer and are separate from pool places; duplicate seeds within the same bracket are rejected.

Official assignments are saved alongside the calculated standings and do not change scores or player stats. If scores change afterward, a reminder asks you to review the saved assignments. To remove overrides, tap Reset fields to calculated and then Save official placements. Resetting fields without saving does not change saved assignments.

Pool standings

On phones, the Tournament screen puts standings first. Tap the team-count line to expand the roster. Pool matches are grouped by round; the next unfinished round opens automatically. Bracket play and Official placements can be expanded separately. On phones, navigation stays fixed at the bottom. Match opens Match Stats, Pool opens Pool Stats, and Tourney opens Tournament. The active tab is highlighted; content has room above the bar and iPhone home indicator. Capture keeps its stat groupings and tap/hold controls.

Your tournament’s pool standings rank teams by total points scored minus total points allowed across final matches. Compact rows show place, team, bracket projection, and point differential. Tap a team to see matches played, sets won and lost, and points for and against. Ranking & brackets explains the calculation and advancement rules. In-progress matches do not affect standings. Placements remain provisional until all pool matches are final. Tied teams share a place; a team with no final matches is unranked. Pools contain 2–6 teams. For pools of up to four teams, first and second place advance to Gold, third to Silver, and fourth to Bronze. Five- and six-team pools still show standings, but bracket assignments remain unset until the organizer’s rules are known. Assignments are projected while pool play is incomplete. A tie crossing a bracket boundary shows Bracket pending; a tie only between first and second still puts both teams in Gold. These labels do not assign a seed against other pools.

Open Point differential under a scored matchup to see each team’s differential for Set 1, Set 2, and the match total. A missing score shows a dash. Correcting a result recalculates the standings automatically.

Tournament scores

A four-team pool automatically uses 3 matches per team, so every team plays each opponent once. That creates 6 matches total, with 2 sets in each match. Repeat opponents are disabled for four-team pools.

In Tournament, open a saved pool schedule and tap Enter scores. Enter each team’s score for Set 1 and Set 2. Save progress keeps unfinished scores; Save final scores requires both sets to finish at 25 or higher with a two-point margin (a 1–1 split is allowed). Tap Edit scores to correct a saved result.

For your player’s match, complete a Pool Play match in Capture with the same team names and tournament date. Copy captured scores & stats brings its results into the selected scheduled match, even if the team order is reversed. Review and save. Matching current and History matches are available, and each captured match can be assigned once. This is a saved copy: later Capture corrections require copying and saving again. Editing tournament scores changes only those scores; imported player stats remain unchanged. Other teams’ manually entered scores do not add player stats to All-Time totals.

Sharing stats and results

Share match, Share pool, Share history, and Share all-time create a designed image with player totals, rating breakdowns, and match/set results. App controls and navigation are excluded. In History, expand a match or pool and use its Share button to share only that record. Share history combines saved matches and the current match, including unfinished play; All-Time also includes the unfinished current match.

For a tournament, open View results, select Overall, Pool, or Bracket, then tap Share summary. Only copied Capture records contribute player stats; manually entered scores appear as results. Preview the card, then choose Share image to open the share menu or Save image to upload it to a social app. Nothing is posted or sent automatically.

App updates and History

The revision appears in Settings, the footer, and the sign-in screen. When an updated offline app is ready, use Reload app to switch to it. Saved stats remain on the device.

History labels the current match and keeps it visible during play, after corrections, and if a completed set reopens. Current-match kills, in-play attacks, attack errors, and total attempts use the same totals as Match Stats. Saved matches and pool totals remain separate.

Sign-in required

You must sign in or create an account before using Capture, stats, or navigation. First link this device with your account by choosing the device or server copy. A previously signed-in and linked device can reopen offline until its remembered session expires, up to seven days. Sign out locks the app immediately, including offline access, while preserving saved device data. New devices and expired or rejected sessions require an online sign-in.

Offline and server sync

Scores, stats, history, pools, and tournaments save on this device first. After the first online visit finishes preparing the offline app, you can reopen it without a connection. Open Match settings → Offline, account & server sync, or Offline & sync in the footer.

If server storage is configured, tap Create account to register with your email, a password of at least 12 characters, and matching confirmation, or sign in with your existing account. Creating an account signs you in but does not replace your device data. First choose whether to upload this device or load the server copy. Future changes upload automatically while the app is open and connected. Reopen the app online or tap Sync now to send pending offline changes. If both devices changed the data, choose which complete copy to keep; the app does not merge them silently.

Download device backup saves a JSON file of your data. Restore a device backup loads a saved file. Loading a server copy or backup keeps the previous device copy for recovery. Signing out keeps local stats. Clearing browser data removes the local copy; keep backups for important records. The local preview stays on the sign-in screen until account storage is configured.
